Financial Literacy is indeed a global challenge. Each country is faced with the same challenge. Culturally many countries may be very different - we may speak different languages, be of a different ethnic background and be of a different religion but we all share one thing in common - money.

Many of us are not taught the basics from a young age. Many of us do not have the right 'money tools' by the time we become adults and many of us merely pass these bad habits on to our children in turn. The cycle needs to break and we need to make the change.

We can look to governments to assist but don't bank on it [no pun intended]. As individuals it starts with us. It starts with us within our families, our communities and within our schools and within the workplace. People must start to take responsibility for their own money management.

Be capable, learn, change your lifestyle habits, become an influencer and change your attitude towards money.

I am in dependent financial life skills coach based in Johannesburg, South Africa. For further details of my financial education business please go to www.motivatetoday.co.za or you can contact me on nigel@motivatetoday.co.za

Really should take into account the cost of "brown bagging it" I buy food for the week every monday lunch time and it still costs me around $20 a week.

No such thing as a free lunch Liz, even if its in a brown bag.
